To formulate and manage the implementation of policies, strategies, plans, programs,
projects, legislations and regulations that promote and enhance sustainable and regenerative
tourism growth and development efficiently; and to effectively market Grenada’s tourism
industry.

To sustainably develop and promote Grenada as a premier, year-round tourism destination by
showcasing its rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, and warm hospitality to enhance the
experience for visitors and maximize benefits to Grenada.
A globally competitive, sustainable and regenerative tourism brand industry that empowers
Grenadians, provide an authentic and unique experience for locals and visitors alike, whilst
generating foreign earnings for Grenada.
The following will be the objectives of the Tourism portfolio:
i. Tourism and hospitality services policy review, formulation, implementation and
monitoring.
ii. Development and management of the tourism products and the preservation and
upgrade of tourism related projects.
iii. Regulations/legislative compliance of the GTA and other statutory bodies or
agencies under the purview of the Tourism portfolio.
iv. Product and services identification and development (including on the sister isles).
v. Coordination among statutory bodies, state-owned enterprises and other agencies
associated with the Ministry and regional and international organizations
including the planning of regional and international meetings.
vi. Institutional strengthening, staff development and training, inclusive of the GTA,
for Carriacou and Petite Martinique and other statutory organizations or agencies.
vii. Public awareness, sensitization, education and communication.
viii. Strategic/corporate planning, budgeting, projects (inclusive of national sustainable
plans for the tourism sector).
ix. Multi-lateral, bi-lateral agreements, technical cooperation and networking with
industry partners.
